JENNIFER VELARDE, a girl with a dream of doing something independent, something creative, something that felt right! unsatisfied with aspects of her corporate design job, she went back to skills developed earlier in life and found a creative outlet in the satisfying motions of selecting fabric, working a sewing machine and figuring designs that ended up as handbags. turning a passion for creativity into an interactive shopping and designing experience for others, what started out of her studio condo at 1154 W. Lill Street in Chicago only eight years ago has become the ORIGINAL custom handbag and accessory line.

available in more than 30 cities nationwide, LILL on Location lets you gather your friends, colleagues or VIP guests for a creative event at your home, office or other location of your chosing.
a LILL On Location stylist will help guests select from more than 150 ever-changing fabrics for the exterior, interior, straps and accents of their chosen bag. orders are placed at the event and each bag is individually hand-tailored in Chicago. orders are shipped to the guest or host within three to four weeks.

Here’s how the 1154 LILL Custom Handbag concept works:
1) Pick Your Style
First pick your style of bag from the 25 current shapes and silhouettes in the line. We offer everything from small going-out bags to large diaper bags and everything in between. Your price is based on the style of bag, not the fabrics or options you choose. This means that custom-orders cost the same as the limited-edition ready-made bags that are available for immediate gratification. Prices range between $26 and $185.
2) Pick Your Fabrics
Time to get creative! Mix and match colors, patterns and textures to select the right choice for each part of your bag: exterior, interior, pockets, straps, etc. We introduce new fabrics every few weeks and have between 150 – 300 thoughtfully chosen designer textiles available at any given time.
3) Love Your LILL
After placing your order, you simply have to wait 3 to 4 weeks for our Chicago-based production team to hand craft it to your exact specifications. Your order will be shipped to you. You’re going to Love Your LILL!
